DETAILS BLANC DEL TERRER 2014
Born from a purely Mediterranean terroir in the town of Vila-Seca de Solcina, Blanc del Terrer 2014 is a varietal wine made from Sauvignon Blanc by the Vinyes del Terrer winery in Tarragona.
The vines are planted in soils composed of lumaquel.la, which is the local name for a kind of marine fossil compound that brings an exceptional minerality to the grapes grown in that kind of terroir.
Harvest was carried out at dusk. Then grapes were kept chilled for 24 hours, after which they were cold-soaked, destemmed and crushed. Finally, the resulting wine juice was fermented and aged for 5 months on its lees.
Blanc del Terrer is a Spanish young white wine that should be enjoyed during the current year.
This Spanish Sauvignon Blanc wine has a pale yellow colour with greenish tinges.
Mild, gentle aromatic expression in which mineral notes clearly predominate, along with hints of dry earth, white fruit, spices and some citrus touches.
Blanc del Terrer wine from Tarragona is remarkably fresh on the palate, full of nerve and tension but without forgetting the fruit side. Acidity is excellent, and finish is long and leaves an intriguingly saline aftertaste.
OUR PERSONAL OPINION
A Sauvignon blanc born from a mineral terroir. No, it is not Sancerre. It is Blanc del Terrer 2014.
No one has given their opinion yet.
