Lamadrid Estate Wines are produced through a delicate balance between the work in the vineyard and the wine-making process done in the cutting-edge winery. There are skilled people working in both the vineyards and the winery, and Guillermo García Lamadrid and Hector Durigutti, master winemaker and general manager, devote a lot of time and effort in those areas. Durigutti and García Lamadrid have developed a close working relationship and friendship, crucial elements for the success of Lamadrid brand.
Lamadrid are situated in the prestigious Lujan de Cuyo area of Mendoza, 148 acres of Cabernet Sauvignon, Malbec and Bonarda, planted in 1973.
This wine presents red and violet colors.
In the nose, it is very complex displaying aromas of roasted red pepper, leather, and a touch of vanilla.
In the mouth, it is unctuous, fruity, and well-balanced.
- Winemaking Notes
Their wine-making style combines the use of concrete vats with stainless steel tanks, the use of traditional oak barrels with the innovative insert staves, the use of synthetic corks with natural corks, and the defiant use of indigenous yeast. Their style and identity is defined by unfiltered wines blended with a percentage of bleeding to enhance them, by 80-year-old vineyards that produce young wines, and by the combination between the old oenology techniques and the new technological practices.
