Winemaking Notes

Bodega Luigi Bosca decided to embrace some of the most highly beneficial principles governing this crop system. It is a work philosophy aimed at empowering the plant to defend herself.
For example, the lunar pattern is used for some variants such as Malbec, in which the point of maturity would normally tally with these cycles: it is planted when the moon is waning to strengthen the roots, and harvested when the moon is waxing to leverage the fruit.
The promotion of biodiversity is another bio-dynamic key applied. The vineyards have never grown in solitude. We must make them feel part of a system, while they coexist with, and leverage other species. For these purposes, we use olive and chestnut trees to make wines as natural as possible.
Handpicking, selection of clusters, de-stemming and grain selection are done with a judicious hand. Fermentation is conducted in stainless steel tanks at a controlled temperature of 28°C with selected yeasts. After the alcoholic fermentation is completed, the wine is transferred to new 70%-French 30%-American oak casks, where it rests for 14 months. Blended and lightly filtered while bottled.

Growing Conditions

From the vineyards Finca Los Nobles, Las Compuertas, and Finca El Paraíso, Maipú (Mendoza) which are 90 years old and at a high altitude of 800 - 1050 meters above sea level.
