Bodegas y Viñedos Martínez-Corta was born with the effort and work of a family devoted to the world of wine for four generations.
The wines come from 70Ha of vineyards they have been cultivating for several generations. These vineyards are located in La Rioja Alta, and all of their wines are made from their own vineyards.
Both the design of the winery and the elaborate vinification process work together so as to produce high quality wines. The design is characterized for having an octagonal floor in the central part and two symmetrical premises to both sides. (see image accessible below) In order to diminish the mechanical action of getting the grape to its arrival at the winery, a ramp that borders the back part of the warehouse has been built, so as to tow the grapes directly to the mouth of the stainless steel tanks, avoiding the "pumping" of the grape.
Dark ruby red in colour
Raspberry and plum, ripe fruits with a spicy tone
Ripe fruits, earthy tones and that bit of tobacco in the background, so characteristic of tempranillos. Soft tannins allow for immediate enjoyment!
- Winemaking Notes
The Martinez Corta family, third generation wine growers, are blessed with low yielding Great value Riojavineyards in the premium Rioja Alta. Unusually for Rioja, the family own all the vineyards, so they can ensure their vines receive the best care. It is the family's gnarled, ancient vines (some are 100 years old) that are the key to their wine's quality - yielding such intensely coloured and deeply flavoured fruit that the family leave the vibrant flavours to speak for themselves.
Marquis Wine Cellars are the exclusive importer for this winery.
- Food Pairing
Big meat dishes, roasts, game and lamb, as well as strong cheeses pair well with this wine.
