2011 Domaine Michaud Sauvignon Blanc
- Sauvignon Blanc
- Touraine, Loire Valley
- Bottle size
- 750 mL
The Touraine region generally produces some excellent sauvignon blanc wines, without the higher cost of a Pouilly Fuisse or Sancerre. This Domaine Michaud 2011 confirms this with a beautifully dry wine that pairs with many foods, particularly seafood.
Clear and sparkling with yellow highlights
Fresh, grapefruit and citrus aromas mingle with mineral notes.
Very dry, grapefruits jumping around in your mouth! Excellent acidity balanced with citrus fruit on a base of mineral freshness.
- Winemaking Notes
The 20 hectares of cultivated vines on the estate are based on south-facing hill-sides. There are two kinds of terroirs, which both bring their character to produce original appellation wines: the gravelly sands, on clay subsoil, crop fruity wines which have to be drunk young. The stony sands, high in flint, which result in a structured wine, are more suitable for ageing; this terroir is the favourite for the cuvée speciale.
- Growing Conditions
From the Winemaker Theirry: "Observing and respecting to produce, it is the commitment of our Estate. From vine to wine, our work is a marriage of traditional method, leaf, and collage in red and white wines with egg white ... and the most modern techniques, mechanical harvesting, pneumatic pressing, temperature control wine ... to offer you the best of our "Nature"."
At the heart of the Loire Valley, this area is located on the right bank of the Cher in Noyers, a small town in the Centre region. The family farm is the result of the work and experience of three generations in the respect of tradition and progress. Our motto: "the pursuit of quality through the expression of our terroir".
- Food Pairing
