"The same as with most of the other 2016s, I caught the 2016 Finca de Los Locos in tank after its élevage as it was about to be bottled. This single vineyard is on a terrace of the Ebro River at only 120 meters in altitude, on sandy and gravel soils with a high percentage of active limestone (26%!). As in the previous vintage, the aging was in 500- and 600-liter barrels and one 3,500-liter oak foudre and lasted one year. It's a little balsamic, very young with that baby fat that will melt down with time in bottle. This is a vineyard that produces powerful wine, and it's not especially old. There are abundant, fine-grained tannins and integrated acidity. They expect to fill 8,800 bottles in early January 2018." 92-93 points
