Also locally called Ariddu, Grillo is considered one of Sicily’s highest-quality cultivators.The word grillo refers to grilli, another Sicilian word for pips. First recorded plantings are said to have originated in and around the area of Trapani, hence its local and historical importance. Wines are fermented via natural yeast in stainless steel tanks without malolactic fermentation. This results in a fresh, mineral-driven style. This wine is bright, with notes of pear, lemon, almond, green apple and a round-full mouth feel. Pair with marinated vegetables, grilled artichokes, Sicilian olives, steamed mussels; lobster and sushi.
